Skate Life Brighton: Campaign Aims

Skate Life Brighton is a campaign by council tenants and residents living in Whitehawk East Brighton. Following Community Engagement and Consultation with people from all walks of life in Whitehawk, A skatepark was a familiar theme when we asked the community what they wanted in Whitehawk. 

  • To Consult with the Residents of Whitehawk and Skatepark users on a new Skatepark Facility For Whitehawk in East Brighton. A Community First. 
  • To work with other Local Community Groups and Skate Enthusiasts to ensure we find the best Location For a New Skatepark Facility
  • To Fundraise For Funds for the Campaign, Project, and Events. 
  • To Facilitate Youth and Young Peoples Involvement. Work With Youth Groups
  • To Put On Free Community and Skate Related Events for the Community of Whitehawk.
  • To Ensure Any Design Fully Meets the Needs of Service Users and is of the Highest Quality
  • We Promise to listen to any areas of concern and work to create a safe and fun skate park for the whole community to enjoy. working with residents, and local services like Schools, we will work with parents and partners, including local councilors, and our local authority.
  • Promote Equality: More Girls in Sport, All Ages Take Part. Disabilities Access, Ease of Access

EQUIPMENT SUPPLIED –

PROFESSIONAL COACHES – JUST TURN UP!

Featuring: Free Skateboarding Tuition Sessions delivered by the Healthy Lifestyles Team

Qualified Coaches for ages 5+ with all equipment provided between 10 – 12pm. X 10 places available per each session (45 minutes) with sign up done on the day on a first come first served basis for ages 5+. Free

Open Skate Sessions for the community to use our mobile skatepark supervised by our Healthy Lifestyles Team Staff.

Only skateboards and scooters suitable for skateparks are allowed on the equipment from age 5+. All participants taking part ill need to complete a registration form on the day.

If under 16 a parent or guardian will need to complete a registration form on their behalf.

Helmets must be worn by under 16’s whilst skateboarding or riding at the event. Over 16’s can choose not to wear a helmet.

Pads are recommended to be worn but not essential. Flat soled shoes are recommended (no sandals, crocs, heels or open toed shoes allowed). Refreshments and Snacks

The Campaign For A Skatepark in East Brighton: East Brighton is one of the only communities not to have a skatepark in the area, this is something Park Life Brightons sister campaign Skate Life Brighton want to change.
